CANADIAN QUALIFIERS COMPLETE; AUSTRALIAN & NEW ZEALAND
2008 FACTORY VALUE PARTS WORLD CHALLENGE QUALIFIERS SET
KNOXVILLE, IOWA (August 20, 2007) - With the Canadian qualifiers at the Ohsweken (Ontario) Speedway and the Castrol Raceway (Edmonton, Alberta) complete, attention now focuses on the overseas international qualifiers for the 2008 Factory Value Parts World Challenge at the Knoxville Raceway. The dates for the final three qualifiers, at which Americans can become eligible for the August 8, 2008 World Challenge, are as follows:
December 26, 2007; International Sprint Car Series; Springs Speedway, Western Springs, North Island, New Zealand;
January 5, 2008; New Zealand Sprint Car Championship; Blue Chip Speedway at the Baypark Stadium, Mount Maunganui, North Island, New Zealand; and
January 26-27, 2008; Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic; Premier Speedway at the Sungold Stadium, Warrnambool, Victoria, Australia.
According to Knoxville director of racing Ralph Capitani, “We are very pleased to be working with Dave Stewart at Western Springs, Willie Kay at Baypark, and David Mills at Warrnambool this year. We value their loyalty to our Factory Value Parts World Challenge event, which will again be a part of the August 6-9, 2008 SuperClean Knoxville Nationals. And although David Mills is new at the helm of the Premier Speedway, we have a long and proud history of working with the Premier Speedway club and staff and their crown jewel Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic event.”
As a result of the two Canadian qualifiers, those already inversion-eligible for the fifteenth annual Factory Value Parts World Challenge at Knoxville Raceway are:
