McKean County set to host 2nd FASTRAK Northeast Late Model Touring Series event Saturday; $1,500 on the line.

The FASTRAK Northeast Late Model Touring Series will
return to action this Saturday night, August 25 at McKean County
Raceway in East Smethport, Pa. The event replaces the inaugural
event that was originally scheduled for April 28, but was then
cancelled due to the lack of production of the Goodyear tires.
The 25-lap feature will pay $1,500 to-win, $150 to-start. Drivers
will draw pills to determine the heat race lineups and redraw for the
first 12 starting spots of the feature. There is a $75 entry fee.
The Goodyear G45 or G50 tires are mandatory. They will be available
at the track for $125 each or by calling BWR Performance at 330-509-
1999.
"Our last FASTRAK regional show was very, very good," stated McKean
Promoter Ken Leet. "The racing was great; there was practically a
blanket over the top six all night. Although John Lacki led all 25
laps, Todd Andrews was basically beside him for 20 of those laps, add
in the great races by Dick Barton, Alan Dellinger and Greg Oakes and
MCR couldn't wait to schedule another event."
"McKean had hoped from the beginning to reschedule their first race,"
explained Northeast Co-Regional Director Mike Leone. "Originally
they chose July 28, but due to some other big regional events that
day they backed it up to August 25. The first show drew a Touring-
high 25 cars and McKean's weekly car count has steadily rose to near
20 cars so we expect a great field of competitors. We're thrilled to
return to McKean in the final Touring tune-up there before the
Northeast Championship. "
Dick Barton of Ashville, New York leads the Series with three
victories including the $5,000 event at Mercer Raceway Park on July
4. John Lacki of Sinclairsville, New York won back-to-back Touring
events on June 15 and 16 at Raceway 7 and McKean. By virtue of his
win at Lakeville Speedway and Dick Barton a no show, Alan Dellinger
of Hermitage, PA currently leads the points by 24 over Barton and two-
time Raceway 7 weekly winner John Watson.
The 2007 Northeast Touring Series $5,000 Champion will be determined
at McKean on Friday, September 28. That event will pay $3,000 to-
win. Following Saturday's event and before McKean's finale, the
Touring Series will make its only visit to Dog Hollow Speedway on
Friday, August 31 for a $1,200 to-win event and then head to Raceway
7 in Conneaut, Ohio as part of their Fall Classic.
