FAN IS BIGGEST WINNER On a DOUBLE RACE WEEKEND
Sundance Auto Sales of Trenton, Peterborough and Pickering helped make one fan at Brighton Speedway the biggest winner of the night on August 18th. As an added celebration of the 40th Anniversary Season , Speedway
Management gave all adult fans who purchased an adult admission ticket a draw ticket and five finalists drew a random key from a box for their chance to drive away with a car. The last one to choose a key was able to turn the key. Heidi McMoran of Port Carling, ON was the biggest winner of the season!!!
Other winners on the night included Terry Loxley (#8) , of Trenton, in the Bill’s Johns Comp 4, Gary Vandertoorn (#8) of Brighton, in the Mister Signz Pure Stock and Charlie Sandercock (#57) of Trenton in the Bainer’s Radiator Canadian Modified Division. 2006 Brighton Automotive Pro Stock Division Champion, Ronnie, “the Rocket” Wadforth (#40)of Trenton took the Feature Win and following a positive post race inspection was chosen as the Campbellford Chrysler Driver of the Month.
Sunday was a different race completely as 51 drivers loaded their cars on the track to compete in the Hotch’s Autoparts Summer Slam Enduro. After 4 red flags, one ambulance call and a number of cautions, it was the #2 of Greg Morris that pulled out the 200 laps. Track favourite and past winner, Robbie Wilson (#09) from the Brighton Automotive Pro Stocks ran a great race and finished second with 191 laps.
The best priced family entertainment in the Northumberland and Quinte areas will do it all again with the green flag at 7:00 pm on August 25th. The Betty Bread Complete Race Program gates open at 5:30 pm. Following the races there will be the #25 Greg Beyea Racing Team;s Chase for the Cure. Everyone is invited to come out on the track following the races and walk with the drivers, fans and Speedway Staff who are aiming to raise $10,000 for Cancer.
