Entries still coming in for Utica Rome Speedway's New Yorker 200.

ENTRIES STILL COMING IN FOR UTICA - ROME SPEEDWAY ’S NEW YORKER 200



VERNON , NY- With the pre entry deadline quickly approaching for the 18th running of the Gates-Cole Associates/Dart Machinery New Yorker 200, a steady flow of entries has been making their way to the Utica-Rome Speedway office. The event to be run on September 15 and paying $10,000 to win with a stunning $1,000 to start, this lucrative event has been creating some buzz throughout the Northeast.



Gus Schmidt was the first official entry but since the popular Clay NY driver’s entry arrived, many more have arrived. Top DIRT stars Vic Coffey, Jimmy Phelps, and Kevin Bates have filed their entries along with Vermont ’s Dave Camara. Utica-Rome regulars Todd Burley, Willy Decker, and Paul Kinney will be in attendance attempting to keep the New Yorker title home against other entries such as Mike and Rich Ricci, Kirk Horton, Tom Juhl, JR Hurlburt, Michael Schane, Kory Gurney, Eric Acquaro, and Ed Pieniazek. The early entry deadline is September 1, so another round of pre entries is expected.



The New Yorker 200 weekend kicks off on September 14 with the Sportsman, Pure Stocks, and IMCA Modifieds highlighting the night’s racing activities along with hot laps for the 358-Modifieds. The Sportsman will compete for $2,200 to win in an open event. The Pure Stocks will compete for a $500 payday while the IMCA Modifieds will chase a $400 payday.



Saturday September 15 is the event that many race fans have been waiting for as the sail paneled 358-Modifieds will compete in the Gates-Cole Associates/Dart Machinery New Yorker 200. The Pro Stocks will also be in competition, with a $1,200 payday on the line.
