The front-row tandem of John Haeni and Scotty Neitzel brought the field to the green with Haeni grabbibng the initial lead before Neitzel powered by on the outside. Fourth starting Reinke made his prowess known immediately as he grabbed the runnerup spot on lap two. Neitzel and Reinke ran nose to tail for several laps setting a blistering pace around the top of the sweepiing banked third-mile.
Reinke waited for the right moment and pulled off a perfect slider to take the lead and then set sail. Reinke began to open his lead while Whitney, Meyer, and Young began to reel in Neitzel in traffic. The battle for second had the large gathering on their feet as Whitney, and Meyer each spent time in the runner-up slot as the pack ran three wide numerous times.
With Meyer on the low side, Whitney in the middle, and Neitzel up on the fence and lapped cars everywhere in between the white flag waved. Reinke crossed the line eight car lengths ahead of the second place showdown which was claimed by Whitney at the line.. Neitzel edged Meyer, and Young to take third. Haeni, Brian Kristan, and Donny Goeden finished sixth through eighth as the only other cars finishing on the lead lap of the all green thirty lapper.
