Lenie Sliter, James Small, Ed McNamara and Wayne Conn are all Champions at The New Humberstone Speedway
In the Cosco Haulage Sportsman Division, it was Bill Bleich who pretty much walked away with his first win of the 2007 season. Bleich who had a 6 car lead at any given point between him and the second place car Dennis Giancola. Now what made this race even more exciting is the mid pack battle between Tyler McPherson, Wayne Conn and Greg Panunte. Knowing that the more places they could gain could win any of the 2007 championship or lose them the championship if they lost any spots. In the end it was Wayne Conn who had 1 point over Tyler McPherson, who captured the 2007 Cosco Haulage Sportsman Championship. Top 5 were Bill Bleich, Dennis Giancola, Darren Zumpe, Nick Cupolo, and Don Spiece. (Heat Winners were Don Spiece, Bill Bleich and Darren Zumpe)
The Brians Tire Repair Streetstocks final point will be next week, and they will be championship points at that. The boys of the StreetStock class were given the night off so that they could travel to Brighton Speedway for a race there. It was the 3rd time for Rick Beales who captured the win in the non point’s race in his TC (Trevor Clark) decaled car. Beales who had to fight off the 55 of Vince Fargnoli most of the 15 lap event. Top 5 Rick Beales, Vince Fargnoli, Remington Price, Jamie Akers, and Steve Robison. (Heat Winners were Vince Fargnoli and Steve Robison)
Pit Steward put up his paycheck from The New Humberstone Speedway and Lou Caetano from Winchester Arms in Port Colborne donated $20.00 for a 6 lap dash for cash for the StreetStock division. Vince Fargnoli was able to pull off the victory and gain some extra money.
Don Lessard told us in the pits he was wearing his lucky shirt. He explained that he was wearing his “lucky shirt” two weeks ago when he won, so he was trying it again. I have a funny feeling he will be wearing this shirt every week next season as he won the 15 lap event. Lessard, who looked like he may had lost the lead to John low, was caught up in lap traffic which allowed the S10 to gain some space between the two. But it was Lessard who eventually was able to beat him at the line. Top 5 were Don Lessard, John Low, Rick Book, Doug Banner, and Ed McNamara. (Heat Winners were Doug Banner and Ed McNamara )
Ed McNamara was crowned the 2007 Championship in the Niagara Auto Sales Pro 4 Truck Division.
James Small won the 15 lap race and also the 2007 Championship in the Kendall Oil Ministock Division. Small, who knew coming into the night’s race that no one could catch him point wise already was wearing his 2007 Ministock Champion shirt as he signed in at pit gate. Top 5 were James Small, Dave Small, Aaron Wiley, Brandon Iudiciani, and Evan Curtis. (Heat Winners were Dave Small and Aaron Wiley)
In the Weekend Warrior Division it was Brad Booker who captured the last checkered flag of the 2007 season in newly created class. Booker took over the lead from Roger Gilbert on lap 2 and managed to remain in the top spot thru out the 15 lap event. Top 5 were Brad Booker, Sam Iftody, Roger Gilbert, Lenie Sliter, and Rob Goulden. (Heat Winner was Roger Gilbert.)
Lenie Sliter was crowned the champion of this newly created class; she is also the first female to win a Humberstone Championship.
