IRA 1/2 Mile Doubleheader Sept 14-15

McHenry, IL: The Bumper to Bumper IRA 410 Outlaw Sprints take to a pair of the nicest fairground half-mile venues found anywhere this weekend, Sept. 14-15. As a matter of fact the sprint car world will be focused on Wisconsin the entire weekend as the World of Outlaws compete just down the road on Sept 16th.

The weekend goes green Friday night with the rescheduled Summer Sizzler at the red clay half-mile of the Langlade County Speedway in Antigo. Then Saturday it's south to the horsepower half-mile of the Dodge County Fairgrounds Speedway on the east side of Beaver Dam for the 2nd annual Dick Witt Checkered Classic. And to complete the weekend, fans can travel just 2 miles west to Beaver Dam's other track, Charter Raceway Park, for the rescheduled World of Outlaws contest. The WoO show is not an IRA point event.

Friday and Saturday offer full IRA points as 5 races remain on the 07 IRA point calender. Travis Whitney and Mike Reinke, the 2 hottest drivers on the circuit as of late, each winning a pair of races in the last two weeks run first and second in the championship title chase.
Scotty Neitzel, a 2-time IRA Champion himself sits third, captured the last IRA event prior to the recent Whitney - Reinke tear. In fact Neitzel has a pair of runnerup finishes the past two weeks.

Langlade's Summer Sizzler fell victim to weather back on Aug. 18th. Wayne Johnson, who is expected to compete the next few weeks with IRA, captured both ends of Langlade's 2-day IRA visit last year.

Steve Meyer and Mike Kertscher each have scored IRA wins at earlier Dodge County visits this season. All three title contenders, Whitney, Reinke, and Neitzel have all visited Dodge Co. victory lane on numerous occasions over the years.

So come join us in Wisconsin for 3-days of outstanding winged/410 sprint car racing. The outstanding Langlade County facility in Antigo on Friday, then a pair of venues in Beaver Dam Saturday and Sunday.
