Wytaske and Tesch top night #2 of the Featherlite Fall Jamboree

After an all night rain left portions of the pit area wet and the track crew a little extra work night #2 of the 9th annual Featherlite Fall Jamboree was in action with a huge crowd.



48 Amsoil Dirt Track Series WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds pulled onto the track for their heat race and “B” feature action. When it was all completed 24 drivers took the green flag for their 20 lap $300.00 to win feature event…. Jared Boumeester led lap number two after running side by side with Tom Paulson for the first lap. Bobby Swanson came under Paulson to take over second while the field still ran three and four wide early on. Kenny Wytaske quickly showed while he was track champion in 2007 and moved into the second position with Jimmie Arnold following thorugh into third. Dan Wheeler worked into the top five. Thirteen to go saw Swanson charge back through on the bottom side to take the lead for a lap until Wytaske again moved around the high side to take over the lead. Swanson held onto second as Boumeester ran in third. Over the last six laps the field started to spread out. Wytaske cruised home with the win. Swanson came home second followed by Boumeester, Erik Peterson took home fourth after starting tenth while Jerry Young again battled from the back to take fifth away from Jimmie Arnold on the last lap. Two nights in a row Young has battle from outside the top twenty after transferring through a “B” to finish in the top five. The $100.00 bonus from Dirt Doctor Trucking went to Young, Arnold, Pfeifer JR., Pobuda and Corbin.



One Hundred Twelve cars checked into the gate for night two of the USMTS portion of the Featherlite Fall Jamboree, racing for the $4,000 to win first prize. Jon Tesch drew lucky number one and jumped out to an early lead with the field four and five wide for the first lap. Kelly Shryock quickly moved into second while Tommy Weder Jr., and Steve Holzkamper raced for third. With four laps completed Shryock moved alongside of Tesch for the lead, while three and four car battles raged throughout the field on a slightly slick black track. Thirty one to go and Shryock slowly pulled away from the field. Jason Krohn was on a charge and worked into fifth after starting twelfth on the field while Weder had his hands full of team mate Jason Hughes for third. With fourteen completed the two fastest cars on the speedway were Johnny Bone Jr., and Steve Arpin, the two started side by side in fifteenth and sixteenth and were quickly moving through the field. Three laps later Shryock encountered slower traffic allowing Tesch to quickly gain on him for the lead. A caution at the halfway point changed the outlook of the event. On the restart Weder, Tesch and Shryock were three wide for a lap for the lead. Tesch took control as another caution flew. Shryock quickly pulled into the pits with a flat right rear tire. On the restart Tesch was joined by Hughes up front. Fifteen to go saw Tesch holding tightly onto the lead while Bone Jr passed Weder for the fifth spot as another caution flew. On the restart Tesch lead with Hughes second. Krohn now in third saw competition from Bone for the spot. Five laps later Bone took over third. A restart with five to go saw Bone take over the second position following Tesch around as he cruised home with the win. At the scale Bone was Dq’d for being too light moving Hughes up to second. Krohn took home third and basically wrapped up the title of the 2007 USMTS national Champion. Tim Donlinger came home fourth after starting eighteenth followed home by Zack VanderBeek in fifth.
