After finishing outside the top five for the first time in race history in 2002, Bobby Whitling of Seneca, Pa., returned to victory lane winning the 2003 CSOnline Applefest 100 on September 28, 2003. It was Whitling's third win in four years in the race, and his sixth top five finish in seven races. In the 2003 classic, "The Seneca Slider" dueled with 2002 Lernerville Speedway Pro Stock track champion Butch Lambert of Mars, Pa., for the $1,985 win. Lambert finished second and earned the Rookie of the Race award. Gary Robinson of Greenville, Pa., finished third over Scotty Carbaugh of Seneca, Pa., and Dave Willoughby of Warren, Ohio. Robby Torrens of Kennedy Township, Pa., captured the inaugural Apple Core 20 for the Thundercar division. Don Blake Jr. of Titusville, Pa., finished second over Curt Bish Jr. of Oil City, Pa., Wearne Cook of Cooperstown, Pa., and John K. Miller II of Oil City, Pa.
