Mercer, PA.Mercer Raceway Park will hold a final open practice this coming Wednesday night, September 19. Pit gates open at 3 p.m. with practice beginning at 4 p.m. and continuing until dark. Pit passes are $20 and the grandstands will be closed. The rain date is Thursday at the same times. The practice is open to cars of any classes. There is no fee to practice, only a pit pass.
"Originally we were not going to have our last practice," acknowledged Vicki Emig. "However, we've received numerous requests from racers this week asking us to hold the practice. With the earlier sunset, we will begin everything one hour earlier. Again we welcome cars from any speedway and any division. It will be a great opportunity to test for the upcoming Little Guy Nationals on September 28 and 29. We want to thank everyone that has supported these monthly practices throughout the year allowing us to continue to hold them."
Mercer Raceway Park is located minutes from both Interstate 79 and 80 just off Route 19 on Fairground Road in Mercer, Pa. Dirt track racing and quality family entertainment are presented weekly late March through early October. The office in New Bedford, Pa. is open year-round late morning and after 1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
