Thorold, Ontario (Sept 30) – Jacob Lutz had a story book kart season at Merrittville as the young driver not only won the overall 2007 Season Championship in the RCM Racing Equipment Original Pizza Logs Junior 1 Division – he also won the Spring and Summer Series Titles. In doing so, Lutz won a Kart Club high 14 features en route to amassing 2,543 Overall points – another club high.

Rookie Travis Majuery was the first to break Lutz’s incredible win streak that halted at 10 earning the victory while Brett Senek won the season finale.

Ben Werth won his first Ed McPherson Construction Original Pizza Logs Junior 2 Championship as a rookie – backing up the crown he earned last season in the Junior 1 Ranks.

His second career title didn’t come easy though as despite his eight wins overall – the Gasport NY driver finished second to Jesse Johnson in the Spring Series and Connor Mooradian in the Summer standings. Johnson won the Season Opener while Mooradian won 4 times en route to the second half crown. Kevin Daunce would also visit Victory Lane 3 times throughout the season.

A Ransomville NY driver is building a story of her own as Cori Webber won her second straight KC Auto Parts Superior PetroFuels Original Pizza Logs Junior Restricted Heavy Division.

Webber won the Spring Series title as well while yet another Ransomville NY native – Colin Spatorico won the Summer Series. Webber won 5 feature events while Spatorico led the division – visiting Victory Lane on 6 occasions.

Matthew Farnham won three events including a flag to flag run in the season finale while Collin Smith and Dillon MacPherson each won once.

Ron Spatorico continued his stranglehold in the Philbrick Farm & Garden Equipment Original Pizza Logs Senior Medium Division as the Ransomville NY native won his 9th straight title.

Spatorico won 8 features to record the Summer Series Title while Blake Priestley scored 5 to earn the Spring Series Crown. Bobby D’Ambrosio won on two occasions while Nick Herriven once.

Spring, Summer and Overall Season Point Standings are now listed on the web site.

Merrittville Speedway’s youngest group of karters – the Drummond Home Hardware Garden City Auto Complex Novice Division do not earn points all season – but will receive special awards at the upcoming Awards Banquet.

Kart Race Teams are reminded that the Banquet is Sunday November 11th and it will once again be hosted by Club Castropignano. A limited number of tickets remain and they are available from the Speedway Office during business hours.
