FONDA, NY – After a four week break for the annual Fonda Fair the Fonda Speedway will be back in action on Sunday, September 16 with an “Open” event for all divisions on “Back to School Student’s Night” at the Track of Champions.
Pit gates on September 16 will open at 10:00 a.m. with front gates opening at 11:00 a.m., followed by hot laps at noon, and racing at 1:00 p.m. All students with an ID will receive half price general admission. General admission will be $12.00 with children ages six to eleven $3.00 and children five years of age and under are free. Pit admission will be $25.00 with a Fonda license and $30.00 without.
The Modified division will be running a 30-lap event paying $2500 to win. The Fonda Challenge for first and second place will also be up for grabs where if an outsider wins he will receive a $500 bonus but if a Fonda regular defends his home turf and wins the event while an outsider finishes in second place, the Fonda regular will win an $800 bonus.
The Sportsman division will be running a 20-lap event paying $700 to win while the Pro Stocks will be running a 20-lap $500 to win event. The IMCA division will be running a $500 to win feature event while the Street Stocks will be running a feature event paying $100 to win.
There will also be a Budget Sportsman Invitational where the Budget Sportsman division will get to try their hand at the Fonda Speedway for the first time. Depending on car count there will be six lap heats and a 15-lap feature event paying $400 to win.
The rules in all divisions for the September 16 racing program at Fonda are as follows:
MODIFIED – Traditional modified body – No wings, spoilers or sail panels. Tires – your track rules 13x92’s CVRA Goodyear’s, DIRT Hoosier, and Fonda American Racers. Max 467 cu in Big Block’s – 2550-2%.
358 RULES: 04 – 358’s 650 carburetor 100 lb. weight break. Brodix Aluminum Spec Head 100 lb. weight break, any carburetor. Fully ported cast iron head any carburetor, same weight as Big Block’s
SPORTSMAN RULES: Traditional Sportsman body, any Fonda, CVRA, Utica Rome, DIRT, or Lebanon Valley home track rules, 358 cubic inch, 2 or 4 barrel carburetor on gas. Tires – your track rules 13x92’s CVRA Goodyear’s, DIRT Hoosier, and Fonda American Racers.
PRO STOCK RULES: Any Fonda, CVRA, Utica Rome, DIRT, or Lebanon Valley legal, must meet specs of home track rules. 360 max cubic inch, cast iron block, box stock 2 or 4 barrel carburetor, any ignition, no magneto, gas only, 11” tire, 108” wheel base, up to 8” spoilers, no wings/sails, 2850 pounds after race.

With the 2007 regular season now over and the 2007 Track Champions crowned at Fonda here are the finishes that paved each drivers way to their Track Championships.
In a total of 20 feature events Overall Modified Track Champion Matt DeLorenzo had a total of eight wins, 10 top fives, and two top 10’s.
Also in a total of 20 feature events Sportsman Track Champion David Towns had a total of 10 wins along with four top fives, two top 10’s, and four finishes out of the top 10.
Co-Track Champion in the Pro Stock division Kenny Gates had a total of four wins, 12 top fives, two top 10’s, and one finish out of the top 10 while Co-Track Champion Rob Yetman had a total of two wins, 13 top fives, and four top 10’s in a total of 19 events.
IMCA Track Champion Jeremy Cramer had a total of five feature wins along with 10 top fives, one top 10, and just one finish out of the top 10 in a total of 17 events.
Street Stock Track Campion Rocky Warner had a total of seven wins along with seven top fives and four top 10’s in a total of 18 events.
So come to the Fonda Speedway on Sunday, September 16 and enjoy some great racing action in the next to last event of the 2007 season.
