Diamond Nationals Presents a Nice Purse for Competitors and a Good Value for Fans

Forestville, PA – September 15, 2007 – The Diamond Nationals will be contested at Big Diamond Raceway on Saturday September 29 and Sunday September 30. Seven different divisions of auto racing will partake in the weekend’s activities. The total purse for the Nationals is $60,000 and it presents affordable admission for the fans.


Day one of the Nationals (Saturday Sept. 29) showcases the 358 Modifieds , Winged Super Sportsman, Pro Stocks, and Roadrunners/Extreme Stocks. Gates open at 3:00 PM, hot laps begin at 5:30PM, and the first heat goes green at 6:00PM.


The 358 modified rules and purse structure should attract some outside interest to the Diamond Nationals. $3000 for first, $1500 for second, $1200 for third, and $250 to take the green. (Hagerstown rules, 1-4 barrel carburetor, methanol or gas, no sail panels, no low skirting, open 92”tires).


The popular traveling Super Sportsman tour has seen a pair of rain-outs thus far in 2007. SS drivers are chomping at the bit in preparation for their long awaited event. The feature is scheduled for 25-laps and pays $1200 for first, $1000 for second, $750 for third, and $150 to take the green. (If it should rain on Saturday then this race will be presented on Sunday).


The Pro Stock division makes their initial 2007 visit to Big Diamond. These cars compete weekly at the Selinsgrove (PA) Speedway. The Pro Stock feature is 20-laps and pays $500 for first, $350 for second, $250 for third, and $75 to take the green.


The Roadrunners and Xtreme Stocks combined are competing in a 20-lap feature paying $300 for first, $150 for second, $125 for third, and $50 to take the green.


The second day of the Nationals (Sept. 30) features a three division card of dirt track excitement. The powerful Big Block Modifieds are joined by Limited Late Models, and Sportsman-Modifieds. Gates open at 2:00PM, warm-ups take place at 5:00PM, and racing begins at 5:30PM.


The Big Block Mods make their first and only appearance of the 2007 season. They are competing in a 40-lap main event paying $4000 for first, $2000 for second, $1500 for third, and $250 to take the green. (Open 92” tires, 2500 lbs, Small Blocks may run).


The Limited Late Models were also affected by previous rain-outs and are set for a return. This event should draw Late Models from several area speedways. The 25-lap A-main pays $1000 for first, $750 for second, $500 for third, and $100 to take the green.


The Sportsman compete weekly at Big Diamond and will partake in this year’s Nationals. Their feature is 25-laps paying $1000 for first, $750 for second, $500 for third, and $100 to take the green.


General admission for Saturday and Sunday is as follows: Adults-$17, Students/Seniors/Military-$15, Children 10 and under free. Remember to bring your rain check from Saturday, and it will earn a $2 discount for the Sunday show. Parents are invited to mention T102 on either day and your 11 and 12 year old children will be admitted for free as part of this promotion.


Admission to the pit area is $25 per day. No membership or registration is required.
