O’REILLY USMTS CONGRATULATES CLINT BOWYER!
LOUDON, N.H. (Sept. 17) — The staff of the O’Reilly Auto Parts United States Modified Touring Series congratulates Clint Bowyer on his career-first NASCAR Nextel Cup Series victory. Bowyer, a former dirt modified driver who competed twice with the O’Reilly USMTS Modifieds this season, won his first NASCAR Nextel Cup Series race Sunday before a standing-room only crowd at the New Hampshire International Speedway in Loudon, N.H.
Starting from the pole position, the Emporia, Kan., native dominated the race, leading 222 of the 300 laps in his Jack Daniels-sponsored No. 07 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, and moved up eight spots to fourth in the Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup standings.
Driving a car out of Kelly Shryock’s Skyrocket Chassis stable and owned by fellow Kansan Tim Karrick, Bowyer finished 10th with the O’Reilly USMTS at the Adams County Speedway in Corning, Iowa, on June 5, then grabbed a 22nd-place finish at the Cresco (Iowa) Speedway on July 31 in a race that also featured fellow NASCAR drivers Ken Schrader and Kenny Wallace.
