10 Year racing veteran Jon "Catman" Mitchell has been named the Inaugural Day Motorsports AMP Late Model Series Points Champion after a great season of racing and 5 wins during the season, with 4 of them coming at AMP Sanctioned events!
Jon had a solid season all year as he finished 2nd behind Will "The Thrill" Vaught in the Inaugural Day Motorsports AMP Late Model Series race at Crawford County Speedway, then he really came on strong towards the end of the season, winning 4 of the last 7 races in the AMP Series, to include the $2500 to win Topless 40 race at Monticello Speedway, where the biggest win of Jon's career came last season as he won the $5000 to win Memorial Day Shootout in the 2006 Season.
Jon had the Points Championship locked as the Day Motorsports AMP Late Model Series rolled into Central Arkansas Speedway this past weekend for it's final points night, where Jon won his heat race, and finished 2nd overall behind race winner Mike Bowers.
