Triple 50 Wins By Decker, Hearn & Tomkins Wrap Up 21st Rolling Wheels Weekend
Elbridge, NY – September 22, 2007 – Tom Skibinski, Advance Auto Parts Super DIRTcar Series PR Director
The 21st edition of World Series of DIRT Track Racing Weekend at Rolling Wheels Raceway Park offered three times the excitement as Billy Decker, Brett Hearn and Gary Tomkins reached the winner’s circle after scoring convincing victories in the Advance Auto Parts Super DIRTcar Series Budweiser Triple 50s on Saturday night. It was Decker’s fourth tour win of the 2007 campaign, a tour-high seventh for Hearn and a third this season at Rolling Wheels for Tomkins.
Starting third on the 30-car grid aboard the LJL Racing no. 91 Gypsum Wholesalers-Stadium Int'l-Quality Hardwoods/Bicknell entry, Decker took advantage of a lap 17 caution and out-dragged Ryan Phelps on the ensuing restart to make the final lead exchange before cruising on to a decisive victory in the Paine Motorsports 50. Pole-sitter Vic Coffey crossed the line second ahead of Jimmy Phelps, Tim Fuller and Hearn to kick off the unique tripleheader for tour travelers.
Hearn charged from seventh in round two and used a lapped car to pick and roll around leader Pat Ward on lap 14 en route to his Advance Auto Parts Series-best seventh victory of the season in the Finger Lakes Radio 50. Hearn posted his all-time high 98th career tour triumph despite his Madsen Motorsports no. 20 Wentworth Custom Homes-Kruger/TEO machine suffering a broken shock mount with Coffey, Jimmy Phelps, Fuller and Tomkins filling out the final front-five.
Fourth-place starter Tomkins waited patiently in the nightcap before sprinting past pole-sitter Justin Haers on a lap 24 restart and holding off Ryan Phelps to capture the Owasco Beverages 50-lap finale. Chasing Tomkins’ no. 84 Honeoye Auto Parts-Red Parker & Son Excavating/Bicknell mount across the line behind Ryan Phelps, Jimmy Phelps, Fuller and Bert Hard Charger Billy Decker.
As all three race winners already earning guaranteed starting berths in the prestigious Rite Aid 200 Championship race on Oct. 7 of Super DIRT Week XXXVI at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse , Ryan Phelps, Chuck Bower and Kevin Bates collected
preferred status in DIRTcar NorthEast’s biggest event of the year.
With Fuller (3,172), Hearn (3,140) and Decker (3,090) putting forth their best bid to pull away from the pack in the overall Hoosier Tire-Sunoco Race Fuels Mr. DIRTcar/Advance Auto Parts Super DIRTcar Series point standings, Phelps (2,923) and Steve Paine (2,837) remain among the top-five heading into Super DIRT Week at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse for the 36th Annual Rite 200 Championship on Sunday, October 7.

UPCOMING EVENT
Only three extra-distance events remain on the 2007 Advance Auto Parts Super DIRTcar Series schedule. Super DIRT Week XXXVI at the Syracuse Mile concludes with the nationally recognized Rite Aid 200 on Oct. 7 and is followed by the highly anticipated return to New Egypt (NJ) Speedway on Oct. 13 for twin 60s, before Eastern States Weekend at Orange County Fair (NY) Speedway brings the curtain down on Oct. 21 with the big 200-lap season finale in Middletown. Both Syracuse and Orange County races are also the final ‘Triple Crown’ events of the season with 150 points on the line for the winner and 50 points awarded to start.
