Cullen and Billings take wins in season closer at Brockville
BROCKVILLE-The 2007 racing season came to a close on Sunday afternoon at Brockville Ontario Speedway. The biggest enduro field in recent memory enjoyed the sunshine and action on the fast quarter mile clay oval for the Kanes Towing Monster Enduro.
The event was divided into a pair of 75 lap events, one for four and six cylinder cars with over 60 entries. Brock Cullen, a Saturday night regular in the Street Stock division picked up the lead after a red flag around the half way mark and cruised to a convincing win in the 4/6 cylinder event. The fire crew was busy with numerous red flags to put out minor blazes in the overheated engines. Around 50 vechiles took to the track for the 8 cylinder race with Denzil Billings Jr cruising to a couple lap margin over the rest of the field.
Brockville Ontario Speedway and the Kirkland family thanks fans, media and competitors for all their support during the 2007 season, one of the most successful in the track's history. Work now shifts to preparing for the 2008 season with the main stock car schedule beginning next May. |
