The Geisler Racing team and 2006 Lernerville Speedway Track Champion Lynn Geisler’s season came to an end this past weekend at the World of Outlaws Late Model Series sanctioned ‘Pittsburgher’ at Pittsburgh’s PA Motor Speedway.
The last month of the season was not one of Geisler’s most memorable of his storied career. Lynn entered the Mid-Atlantic Championship Series sanctioned ‘Cleveland Brothers MACS 35’ at Lernerville Speedway on August 31st after finishing fourth in the final 2007 Budweiser point standings. Geisler finished his heat race in the fourth position to transfer to the night’s 35-lap main event. The heat finish put Lynn in the 14th starting position for the feature before ending up just outside of the top-10 in the 11th position in the star-studded field.
Pittsburgh’s PA Motor Speedway was the only facility left on Geisler’s schedule for the month of September. Lynn started off the month with a strong second place finish on September 1st but followed that up with a 19th place finish after challenging for the lead on the 16th of September. Geisler finished his 2007 regular season campaign at PPMS third in the speedway’s final point standings behind Jared Miley and Dave Wade.
The following weekend at PPMS was the annual ‘Pittsburgher’ weekend. Friday night’s (September 21) event was a $1,500 to win, unsanctioned preliminary event to kick off the weekend. Lynn settled for a disappointing 27th place finish in the 25-lap warm up. On Saturday Geisler transferred to the WoO sanctioned ‘Pittsburgher’ by virtue of his fourth place finish in his heat but was caught up in an accident on the fourth lap of the main event. The ‘Geisler Gang’ got his #1 Cochran Automotive/Marshall Stamping/Groff Tractor & Equipment Inc./Tri-State Hose & Supply/Bolea Oil/Hoosier Race Tire/Rocket Chassis GTO back on track but Lynn was only able to muster a 20th place finish in the team’s final event of 2007.
