Indee Outlaw Special to close season at Independence Motor Speedway
INDEPENDENCE, Iowa - For the fourth consecutive season, the Indee Outlaw Special will serve as the season finale at Independence Motor Speedway. The rules-free special, sponsored by eCreative Group, is scheduled for Saturday, October 6.
The event's unique format opens up the rules for competitors in what is billed as a "see no rules, hear no rules, speak no rules" fun night. Any enhancements may be made to the cars to increase performance, however car/driver safety may not be compromised as safety rules will be enforced.
Drivers will be required to compete in the same or a comparable division they ran throughout the 2007 season. Late models, modifieds, stock cars, hobby stocks and B modifieds are scheduled to compete on October 6. Those who regularly competed in an "A" modified division at their track will not be allowed to race with the B modifieds. Likewise, no stock cars will be allowed to compete with the hobby stocks. Drivers are encouraged to bring a points sheet from their weekly tracks or Independence tech officials will determine the divisions in which those drivers are eligible to compete.
Late models will be racing for $2,000-to-win, modifieds $700-to-win and stock cars $450-to-win. B modifieds and hobby stocks will each be competing for $250-to-win. All of these amounts are based on 20 cars per division. Purses may be prorated in divisions with fewer than 20 cars signed in.
Grandstand admission for the finale is $15 for adults, $13 for seniors, $8 for students 12-17 and $2 for children 6-11. Kids five and under will be admitted free of charge. Pit passes are $25.
Please note the early starting times for this event. Gates will open at 3 p.m., hot laps are scheduled for 5 and racing is set to begin at 5:30.
