FALL FEST ENDS SEASON AT WILLIAMS GROVE
MECHANICSBURG, PA – Lucas Wolfe (sprints), Pat Cannon (limited sprints), Danny Hager (super sportsman) and Tyler Armstrong (limited late models) scored victories in the season ending Fall Fest invitational Saturday night at Williams Grove Speedway.
Wolfe started on the front row, beat Mark Smith into the first turn then wired the field to score a convincing victory in the 25-lap sprint car feature.
It was Wolfe’s 8th career victory at the Grove and he earned $3000 for his performance.
Fred Rahmer, despite several caution periods, was never able to challenge Wolfe and settled for second. Todd Shaffer moved from the sixth starting spot to claim third ahead of Greg Hodnett and Smith.
Lance Dewease, Dough Esh, T. J. Stutts, Brian Montieth and Chad Layton finished in positions six through ten respectively.
Cannon started 12th in the 20-lap limited (358 c.i.) sprint feature and was up to second place following a restart at the completion of lap seven. He used an inside move through turns one and two to take the lead from Adam Wilt, then cruised to the victory by a wide margin. It was the fifth win of the season for the 2007 division champion.
Wilt, Dave Calaman, Nate Hammaker and Adrian Shaffer completed the top five.
Hager made it back-to-back victories in sportsman competition leading every lap of the 20-lap event after starting on the pole. He had to hold off a late challenge by Carmen Perigo, who settled for second.
Paul Miller came from seventh to finish third. Rich Eichelberger was fourth after starting ninth and Scott Dellinger finished fifth.
In the 20-lap limited late model feature, Armstrong took the lead on the first lap after starting fourth. Once in front he cruised to his fourth victory of the season, winning by a full straightaway over Shaun Jones.
Pat Beard took third place on the last lap, Bernie Beard came from the 19th starting spot to finish fourth and Travis Mease completed the top five.
