ED AIKIN TOPS URC FIELD FOR SECOND WIN OF 2007 AND FOURTH CAREER WIN
SATURDAY NIGHT AT NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY

Ed Aikin of Lincoln University, PA was the man to beat in the thrilling
twenty-five lap BAR'S Leaks URC Sprint feature event Saturday night at
the New Egypt Speedway. Aikin, driving the Scott McClaren owned sprint
car, caught early race leader Brian Seidel on lap sixteen to the top
spot and was never challenged on his way to collecting the $2,000 first
place prize. For Aikin, it was his second win of the season and fourth
career win under the URC banner. Aikin's first win of the season came
at the Williams Grove Speedway in the $4,000 to win Rislone/Shot Drop
Sprint Nationals.

A field of twenty-nine URC sprint cars turned out for URC's twenty-sixth
event of the season and tenth race on the Fred's Trailer Parts "New"
Series. Heat race winners were Justin Collett driving the Scott
McClaren owned #21, Brian Seidel and Dave Ely as the "B" winner was Mike
Haggenbottom.

In the twenty-five lap URC Sprint feature, the one and only yellow of
the race was displayed before the completion of the first lap when Randy
West, Kyle Purks and Jason Clauss tangled in turn four. On the restart,
Brian Seidel of Allentown, PA ran to hide from the rest of the field as
Ed Aikin, Mares Stellfox and Curt Michael. By lap three, Michael was
racing in third and now chasing Seidel and Aikin. Back in the pack,
Chris Coyle was on a charge as he moved into fifth on lap five.

Another driver on a charge was Becca Anderson of Houston, DE and driver
of the BAR'S Leaks sponsored sprint car. As the field passed for the
halfway sign, Aikin caught Seidel and quickly applied pressure for the
top spot. On lap sixteen, Aikin became the new leader with Seidel now
in second followed by Curt Michael, Chris Coyle and Becca Anderson.
Chris Coyle now joined the party and went to battle with Curt Michael.
On lap nineteen, Coyle passed Michael for the third position. Michael
said "no you don't" and on lap twenty-three, he moved back into third.

As Aikin fought to hold off Seidel, and Michael and Coyle battled for
third and fourth, the top five was quickly closing in and very close to
racing under a blanket, in other words, the top five was racing in a
pack for the final laps.

Almost from nowhere, Michael Carber in the Bill Gallagher owned sprinter
was challenging for fifth. For the last two circuits, Aikin remained
the pace setter and went on to claim the victory, his fourth career URC
win of his career. Seidel finished a solid second with Curt Michael
third, Chris Coyle fourth and Michael Carber was fifth. Making up the
top ten were Becca Anderson, Joey Biasi, JJ Grasso, Kramer Williamson
and Kevin Welsh.
