USMTS SOUTHERN SERIES INVADES MOTORAMA SPEEDWAY FOR TEXAS
FALL NATIONALS, OCT. 18-20
BEAUMONT, Texas (Oct. 15) -- A Modified Battle Royal is on
the horizon as the USMTS Southern Series is building steam
for a tripleheader shootout on Thursday, Friday and
Saturday, Oct. 18-20, at Motorama Speedway in Beaumont,
Texas, for the inaugural Texas Fall Nationals.
Thursday's main event winner will garner $1,000, while
$2,000 is on the line for Friday's winner and $3,000 for
Saturday's winner in the biggest race in the Lone Star
State.
USMTS Southern Series points leader Kelly Shryock of
Fertile, Iowa, led all 40 laps of the main event when the

straight-away advantage. Greg Skaggs of Bixby, Okla.,

Whittington of Vidor, Texas, took fourth after starting
18th in the 24-car field. Steve Holzkamper of Gentry,
Ark., rounded out the top-5 finishers.
With a win in the most recent event at the Enid (Okla.)
Speedway Park on Oct. 6, Shryock extended his USMTS
Southern Series points lead over Wheatland, Okla.'s Timms
(1259 to 1174) with nine events remaining on the schedule.
Jason Hughes of Colcord, Okla., is third in the rankings
with 1124 points, followed by Tommy Weder Jr. of Woodward,
Okla. (1080), Skaggs (1076), Holzkamper (1051), Rodney
Sanders of Happy, Texas (897), VanderBeek (889), Scott
Green of Derby, Kan. (871) and Brandon Morton of Coweta,
Okla. (775).
