FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FRANKLIN, PA .. Since the end of the 2007 racing season, Tri-City Speedway officials have continued to work hard on plans for 2008. As announced in August, the venerable half-mile dirt track will continue to run weekly Sunday night shows next season.
The only issue that remained unknown was the divisions that would compete, and part of that answer was resolved this week as track officials decided that newly nicknamed "Sunday Night Thunder" Cars as well as the E Mods and Pro Stocks will return to Tri-City.
"We continue to analyze and consider a number of options for next season," said Tri-City Co-Promoter Mike Graham. "We are pleased to announce that the E Mods, Pro Stocks and 'Sunday Night Thunder' Cars will continue to be part of our weekly shows in 2008."
At this time, Graham and his fellow promoter Roger Crick are still deciding the other divisions to run at Tri-City. Under consideration are the Super Sprints, Big Block Modifieds, Small Block Modifieds, Super Late Models and FASTRAK Late Models.
"We intend to take a little bit more time before we make a final decision about the remainder of our weekly shows," added Graham. "There are a lot of variables to consider and we want to make the right decision for 2008 and beyond. If a change is to be made to our traditional program, it has to be thoroughly considered from every angle."
Graham, Crick and other staff members are also working hard on sponsorship programs for 2008 as well as the season schedule.
"Race track operations never end with the last checkered flag of the season," said Crick. "There is a lot of work to do at the track, and there is a lot of planning for the next year."
The 2008 season will be the 13th consecutive for Graham and Crick at the Venango County race track. The Pro Stocks have competed at Tri-City since the Route 417 oval reopened in 1996. Previously, the division raced under the name Pure Stocks and Stock Cars. The E Mods have been a part of the weekly shows since 2000. The "Sunday Night Thunder" Cars were added in 2003.
"We're really happy with the support from all of the E Mod, Pro Stock and 'Sunday Night Thunder' Car drivers and teams over the years. We hope this announcement will allow them to begin preparations for next season. We also decided to add a new nickname to the Thunder Cars for 2008 in response to many, many requests. Like us, many of our drivers, race teams and fans firmly believe that Tri-City will continue to be the primary source of exciting family racing entertainment every Sunday night in our region."
Graham and Crick also value comments from racers and fans about divisions and special events, and everyone is encouraged to contact them via e-mail at speedway@tricityspeedway.com.

Tri-City Speedway is owned and operated by Roger and Susie Crick and Mike and Margaret Graham. They have promoted Sunday night racing at the popular facility since they reopened it in 1996. The Super Sprints, DIRT Modifieds, E Mods, Pro Stocks and Thundercars race each week at the Venango County half-mile dirt oval. Tri-City is located seven miles north of Franklin, Pa., off State Route 417.
