UTICA-ROME SPEEDWAY SET TO CELEBRATE THE 2007 SEASON ON NOVEMBER 17
Vernon, NY- Continuing with the post season tradition since Gene Cole took over the Utica-Rome Speedway in 2004, the Annual Awards Banquet will again be held that the beautiful Turning Stone Casino & Resort on November 17. The 2007 Track Champions will be honored along with the top ten in points in each weekly division.
Stewart Friesen will receive an $8,000 check for his efforts in earning the 358-Modified championship. Mike Button will take home the top honors in the Sportsman while Jerry Holmes again is the top Pro Stock driver. In the Pure Stocks, Russ Marsden was the champion with Jim Roberts the IMCA Modified champion. Special awards will also be handed out in every division.
Not only will this give patrons a chance to review the 2007 season at “The Action Track of East”, but it may offer a sneak peek at the 2008 season. Also, this will be Dick Sweet’s last event as the General Manager of the Utica-Rome Speedway after a successful three year run.
The event starts at 6 p.m. with the Shenendoah Buffet being served at 7 p.m. Those attending the banquet are reminded that this is a formal event and are asked to dress accordingly.
