Fans Heading to The Dirt Track @ Lowe's Motor Speedway
For Inaugural World of Outlaws World Finals Nov. 1-3
CONCORD, N.C. (Oct. 23, 2007) - Race fans from 48 states and three
foreign countries will converge on The Dirt Track @ Lowe's Motor
Speedway
Nov. 1-3 for the inaugural World of Outlaws World Finals.
This unique event marks the first time the World of Outlaws Sprint
Series and the World of Outlaws Late Model Series have come together to
end
their respective seasons and crown their champions.
"Interest in the inaugural World Finals has been tremendous and
we've even sold tickets to fans in Australia, England and Canada," said
H.A.
"Humpy" Wheeler, president and general manager of Lowe's Motor
Speedway.
"Bringing the world's best sprint car drivers and the world's best late
model drivers together for one giant event is unprecedented.
"Having superstars such as Steve Kinser, Donny Schatz, Scott
Bloomquist and Steve Francis at the same track on the same night has
definitely caught the interest of dirt track fans around the world,"
Wheeler
added. "It will be a terrific way to close out the season."
The Thursday night portion of the three-day program includes
practice and qualifying for the World of Outlaws sprint cars and late
models. Each division will have two time trial sessions with the first
round
determining lineups for Friday night and the second round setting the
Saturday night card.
Full racing programs are on tap for both divisions Friday and
Saturday with each night highlighted by $10,000-to-win main events for
both
the sprint cars and late models.
In the World of Outlaws Sprint Series title fight, defending
champion Donny Schatz leads Joey Saldana by 115 points while Steve
Francis
has a 62-point advantage over Chub Frank in the chase for the late
model
crown.
