SATURDAY ACTIVITIES RESCHEDULED TO NEXT SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 3RD AT FIVE MILE POINT SPEEDWAY
KIRKWOOD, NY…The scheduled Saturday activities at Five Mile Point Speedway have been rescheduled to next Saturday, November 3rd. The schedule will remain the same for next Saturday with the Racer’s Flea Market beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Open Paid Practice will run from 12 noon until 3 p.m. with racing set to go green at 5 p.m. The DART Fall Pure Stock series finale will take place with a 50 lapper paying $1,000 to win.
The racing schedule will be set to get underway at 5 p.m. once again with a great afternoon/evening of action slated. The Fall Southern Tier Showdown for Pure Stocks will be the final race in the three event mini series. The series champion will be crowned after the completion of the 50 lap special that pays $1,000 to win. Seventy-two different teams have competed in the first two events of the series.
Also on the card will be the Lightning Cats, A League of Their Own along with the 99.1 the Whale Figure 8 teams. The new “Kiddie Cat” division will run their first event. The class is a four cylinder division designed for kids. This event will put a cap on the 2007 racing season at the historic quarter mile oval.
Currently Mike Wilbur leads the DART Pure Stock tour standings over Butch Green by fourteen markers with Randy Gates, Daryl Krebs and Harry Marvin III completing the top five. The final event next Saturday certainly should be a great race as the teams not only battle for the big prize money but for the title.
The Racer’s Flea Market scheduled for 10:00 a.m. is free for people to attend but there is a few for vendors. The annual Racer’s Flea Market features all kinds of different racing components, safety gear and actual race cars up for grabs. The past flea markets have seen a number of racing related items exchange hands during the day.
