The Dirt Nation™ Live presented by Lucas Oil radio show on Monday evening October 29 will present a plethora of special guests from the world of dirt track racing across the country. Making a return visit to Dirt Nation™ Live will be Advance Auto Parts Super DIRTcar Series competitor and Northeast Big-Block Modified standout Gary Tomkins of Clifton Springs, NY. Tomkins finished the 2007 season with 5 wins (3 on the tour) and ninth in Series points. Tomkins will join the show to talk about his upcoming trip to Australia. Tomkins drives the Doug Dulen-owned Mastin powered Bicknell #84 sponsored by Honeoye Auto Parts and Red Parker Excavating.
Dirt Nation™ Live will also spotlight the inaugural World of Outlaws World Finals to be held at the Dirt Track at Lowes November 1 – 3, 2007. Each night of racing will feature a full program of heat races, last chance showdowns and feature events for both the Sprint Cars and Late Models and will crown both series champions. Joining the show to talk about this huge event will be Lowes Director of Events Roger Slack, World of Outlaws Sprint Car point leader Donnie Schatz of Fargo, ND, World of Outlaws Late Model point leader ‘The Kentucky Colonel’ Steve Francis of Ashland, KY and leading 2007 Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year candidate Kerry Madsen of St. Mary’s New South Wales, Australia (resides in Knoxville, IA).
Donnie Schatz is currently leading the series points over Joey Saldana. Schatz drives the Parker Stores Sponsored J&J chassis #15.
Steve Francis is currently leading the series points over Chub Frank. Francis drives the Steve Francis owned, Custom Race Engines powered Pontiac GTO Rocket #15 sponsored by Valvoline, Hoosier Tires, Custom Race Engines, Dart Manufacturing, Port City and Banshee Graphics.
Kerry Madsen currently sits thirteenth in series points and comes off winning his second career World of Outlaws Sprint Car feature at Perris Auto Speedway. Madsen drives the Selma Racing owned #11H Maxim.
Making a first time visit to Dirt Nation™ Live will be ‘Teenage Titan’ and 15 year old dirt late model phenom Austin Hubbard of Seaford, DE. Hubbard captured the ultra competitive Victory Lap Late Model Championship at Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway. The championship netted him a cool $10,000. Hubbard has also been competing on a part-time basis in a Super Late Model and has already picked up a win at Delaware International Speedway. Hubbard will be heading down to Charlotte for the World Finals. Hubbard drives the Hubbard Racing owned; CAMS Racing Engines powered Chevrolet Monte Carlo Rocket #11 sponsored by Hab Nab Trucking, Salisbury Door and Hardware, Hubbard Graphics, NAPA of Hayes, Bill's Welding, Dukes Lumber, The Pit Restaurant and Trinity Transport.
