MSS & G-Force Combine To Award 2007 Rookies At DIRTcar NE Banquet

The partnership formulated in 2007 between DIRTcar Racing NorthEast and Motorsports Safety Systems/G-Force pays big dividends for four drivers ready to reap first-year awards at the upcoming season-ending banquet.



MSS/G-Force has been designated as the official sponsor of the 2007 DIRTcar NE Rookie of the Year program with the top rookies in four touring divisions honored at the annual ‘Night of Champions’ on Saturday, November 17 in the Oncenter Complex in Syracuse, New York.



Mike Bowman (Advance Auto Parts Big-Block Modified), Eric Landry (358-Modified), Larry Wight (Sportsman) and Jocelyn Roy (Pro Stock) were named the 2007 DIRTcar NE Motorsports Safety Systems/G-Force Rookie of the Year award recipients. Each driver will receive a $700 package that includes a new G-Force helmet, set of six-point G-Force safety belts, one pair of G-Force driving gloves, and a $225 gift certificate toward the purchase of a HANS device.



Bowman, 20, from Baldwinsville , N.Y. competed regularly at Cayuga County Fair Speedway (16th pts), mixing in stops at Brewerton and Fulton speedways. He scored his lone top-10 finish (9th) at CCFS in Advance Auto Parts Super DIRTcar Series competition driving the no. 16 Klaben Nursery-Fulton Springs/Bicknell entry.



MSS 358-Modified Rookie of the Year Landry, 26, from Trois-Rivieres, Quebec frequented autodromes Drummond (12th pts) and Granby (20th pts) in his no. 81 D’Artagnon’s Bar/Bicknell machine, placing 28th in overall Hoosier Tire-Sunoco Race Fuels Mr. DIRTcar 358-Modified points with a tour-best 19th-place finish tallied at Drummond in August.



The youngest first-year award winner just turning 15, top DIRTcar NE Sportsman Rookie Wight challenged the veterans at Can-Am (15th pts/3 top-5), Fulton (19th pts/2 top-5) and Thunder Alley (16th pts/2 top-5), and climbed to 8th in overall Hoosier-Sunoco Mr. DIRTcar Sportsman points (1 top-5, 4 top-10 finishes) aboard the potent no. 99 Gypsum Express-Stadium International/Bicknell mount.



Also from the Canadian Province of Quebec , MSS Pro Stock Rookie of the Year Roy, 28, drove his no. 05 Roy Racing Products/Chevrolet Monte Carlo mount to a 13th-place finish in the overall Hoosier-Sunoco Mr. DIRTcar Pro Stock standings (1 top-5, 3 top-10 finishes) while competing weekly at Cornwall (13th pts) with Semi-Pro appearances also logged at Drummond (11th pts) and Granby (16th pts).
