A “FEAST” OF RACING PLANNED FOR TURKEY CHASE WEEKEND AT BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY
BRIDGEPORT, NJ (November 1, 2007) - As the 2007 Northeast dirt racing season winds down, Bridgeport Speedway will be offering a “feast” of racing for the Turkey Chase event the weekend of November 10th and 11th.
“The Turkey Chase event is offering a full plate of action this year,” said Track Owner Jay James. “With a 13 x 92 open track tire rule and no pit license required, we welcome drivers and race teams from New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Canada to participate in our final event for the 2007 racing season!”
Turkey Chase weekend starts on Saturday, November 10th at 1:00 p.m. featuring qualifying events for the Big Block Modifieds, Open Competition Small Block Modifieds, and Open Competition Sportsman. Also on Saturday, the GM Crate Sportsman and the 4 Cylinder Stock cars will be competing in qualifying and feature events on the big 5/8 oval. And don’t miss the action-packed Smashmasters demolition derby that will be contested as well!
On Sunday, November 11th all race fans are invited to the “Pit Party Fan Fest” at 10:45 a.m. at the pavilion located behind the main grandstand. At 1:00 p.m., 5 feature events are guaranteed to entertain. The Big Block Modifieds will compete in a 40-lap feature with $4000 to the winner and $200 to take the green. The Open Competition 358 Small Block Modifieds will race in a 30-lap feature with $2500 to the winner and $200 to take the green. Open Competition Sportsman will be featured in a 25-lap main event with $1200 going to the winner and $125 to take the green. The popular Outlaw Stocks and Crate Late Models will add to the excitement on Sunday with complete programs.
Grandstand gates open at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday and 10:00 a.m. on Sunday. Two-day grandstand admission is only $35; Single day admission is available at $20 per day. Kids 12 and under are admitted for free.
Pit Gates open on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on Sunday. A 2-day Pit Pass is available for $45. A single day Pit Pass is available for $30 per day. No pit license is required for the Turkey Chase event. Billed ‘The Fastest Dirt Track in the East’, Bridgeport Speedway is a high-banked 5/8th mile dirt oval, featuring a dirt 1/4 mile oval embedded in the center, and is located in Southern New Jersey -- just minutes from Pennsylvania and Delaware at exit 14 off of I-295.
