CURT MICHAEL & KATHY PALLADINO CLAIM ANOTHER URC BAR'S LEAKS
CHAMPIONSHIP
The URC BAR'S Leaks Sprint Series of 2007 and URC's 60th Anniversary
season came to close on Saturday night at the Delaware International
Speedway. Earning the URC Title was Driver Champion Curt Michael of
Ocean View, DE. For Michael, this is fourth consecutive URC
Championship and his fifth title, winning the series point chase back in
1998. Michael, driving URC's icon sprint car, the #99 owned by Kathy
Palladino and wrenched by Pat Palladino earned the championship with
three URC victories and a host of consistent finishes over the
twenty-eight race BAR'S Leaks Series. One of the big highlights of the
season is that twenty different drivers scored feature wins this season,
setting a new record for the most different feature winners in a single
season. The previous mark was eighteen different winners. Another
interesting point is, of the twenty different feature winners, ten
drivers scored their career first win under the URC banner.
The Michael/Palladino team pretty much had the title locked down going
into the six events, but the battle for all other positions was still up
for grabs. Michael Carber finished second in Driver points, edging out
Ed Aikin by just eighteen points. In Owner points, the battle for
second was just as tight. Earning the runner-up spot in Owner points
was Bill Gallagher, owner of the Valley Forge INC sprint car that
collected 2,413 points. Gallagher earned the spot in a hard fought
battle with a six point advantage over Josette McClaren, owner of the Ed
Aikin driven sprint car. Kramer Williamson rallied home fourth in
Driver points as Davey Sammons jumped into fifth in points following his
impressive victory Saturday night at Delaware International Speedway.
The next event for URC is the Awards Banquet set for Saturday night,
December 8 at the Lancaster Host in Lancaster, PA. Tickets are
available by contacting Donna Miller at 215-860-5631. For additional

The Managing Members of URC would like to thank their competitors,
officials, track promoters and race fans for supporting the highly
successful 60th Anniversary Season. We are already busy planning a big
year in 2008 with announcements scheduled to be made at the Awards
Banquet.
