We are working toward 2008 at Edelweiss Speedway
We are at about 6 months before the start of the new season and the staff of Edelweiss Speedway is already at work to prepare the next year of racing.
Pro-Stock
The pro-stock category will not be back on a regular basis in 2008. We are looking at around 5 races during the season. Plans are to organize a 3-race mini-series. The Mohawk Race Parts & Accessories series, which includes races at Frogtown and Cornwall, would also be on the schedule. The MrDIRTcar American series will also make a return due to the popularity of this one.
New Category
A new category will be added on the racing card next year. The mod-lites, which are very popular at some tracks in New York states, will be the new attraction. These vehicles are a small replica of a modified. They are run with a motorcycle motor of 600 or 1000cc. The starting price is around of $5000 and they can go to $15000. They less work on them that a conventional racecar.
An information session will be held at the R.A Centre located on 195 Maloney Boulevard on Friday, November 23 and it will start at around 7pm.
2008
The Canadian DIRT Series will back for the modified category. The popular Empire Super Sprint will also be on the schedule. The amount of presence for the winged warriors is still to be determined. The 4-wheeler fans will be pleased to know that some races will be added again on the schedule. We are working hard to add new things to the agenda for next year.
Banquet
The 2007 season banquet will be held on Saturday, March 29 at the R.A Centre located at 195 Maloney Boulevard in Gatineau. As soon as we get more details, we will let you know.
