URC PLANS BIG NIGHT, SATURDAY, DECEMBER 8 AS COMPETITORS ARE HONORED AT
60TH ANNUAL AWARDS BANQUET
A lucrative cash point fund in excess of $45,000 will be distributed to
the most successful drivers and owners of URC as the organization plans
their historic sixtieth anniversary Awards Banquet. It will all take
place at the Host Inn, Lancaster, PA on Saturday night, December 8. A
cocktail hour to begin at 6 PM will kickoff short track racing's most
professional and upscale event with dinner being served at 7 PM. One of
the highlights of the night will be the return of legendary URC
Champions Glenn Fitzcharles and Dave Kelly. Both Fitz and Kelly were as
popular for their charisma as they were for their great accomplishments
on the speedway. URC remains the nation's oldest and most successful
360 traveling sprint car organization. 2007 Driver Champion Curt
Michael and Owner Champion Kathy Palladino are guaranteed a minimum of
$10,000 for their championship winning efforts.
A silent auction is being added to the URC Banquet agenda. One auction
item will be an 18x24 canvas painting, autographed by Kasey Kahne and
Dave Blaney. Also part of the silent auction is a mirror painting of
Kasey Kahne and Kramer Williamson in sprint cars at Williams Grove
Speedway in 2007. Proceeds will go to Clark Angstadt to benefit a newly
formed URC Driver's relief fund.
Special thanks to Racing Fans Direct and Bob Altman for their support of
