Ray Swinehart Makes Bridgeport Speedway his Racing Home in 2008
BRIDGEPORT, NJ (December 11, 2007) - With the racing season completed, many drivers and teams are looking forward to 2008. Changing classes and changing tracks is quite the norm. One well-known, Pennsylvania based, small block modified driver has made his plans for 2008. Veteran modified driver, Ray Swinehart, has announced that he will compete in the Big Block Modified division in 2008 at Bridgeport Speedway.
“Our Saturday night racing home in 2008 will be Bridgeport Speedway,” said Swinehart. “I have enjoyed racing at Bridgeport in the past and I am looking forward to competing here on a regular basis.” Ray, the owner and proprietor of J & L Speed shop, will be making the weekly tow from Bechtelsville, PA to the spacious 5/8 dirt oval in Bridgeport, NJ. Ray will be driving a Bicknell dirt modified and is finalizing his powerplant choice for the upcoming season.
Bridgeport Speedway management is excited about Ray Swinehart joining the weekly lineup as well.
“Ray is well known in racing circles and we are certainly pleased about him racing regularly in 2008 at Bridgeport Speedway” commented track promoter Jessica James. “Additionally, others have indicated their desire to run regularly at the speedway and we should have very competitive fields in all divisions in 2008.”
In other news, Bridgeport Speedway management is working furiously on the 2008 schedule and it should be released before the end of the year. Updated information will be posted continuously on the speedway website at www.thenewbridgeportspeedway.com
Billed ‘The Fastest Dirt Track in the East’, Bridgeport Speedway is a high-banked 5/8th mile dirt oval, featuring a dirt 1/4 mile oval embedded in the center, and is located in Southern New Jersey -- just minutes from Pennsylvania and Delaware at exit 14 off of I-295.
