JOHN PINTER TO "DOUBLE THE FUN" WITH URC IN 2008
John Pinter is planning a big year of sprint car racing as he competes
on the Rislone URC Sprint Series of 2008. Pinter, a former stock car
driver and a very successful one at that, recently transitioned to a URC
sprint car owner and he's having so much fun that he is planning a two
car team in 2008. In 2007, Pinter owned the familiar #92 that saw Kyle
Purks at the wheel. In the new season, Pinter plans to double the fun,
providing a team car for popular Ed Aikin to drive on the URC Tour.
"This whole deal could not have worked out any better", commented Aikin
as he informed URC Managing Members of his new found ride. "John is
just a great guy and I'm really looking forward to the new season",
added Aikin. At Christmas time, Aikin was still without a ride, then
the Pinter deal came along and Aikin was gleaming.
John Pinter is also a happy man. "It's going to be fun watching two cars
on race night, especially since I'm more nervous watching, then I ever
was driving", said the mild mannered Pinter. "We plan to run both
teams independently of each other and I'm really looking forward to just
driving my car to the races and watching".
John Pinter has a very interesting team that includes the youthful and
aggressive style of Langhorne, PA driver Kyle Purks, along with the
veteran known as steady Eddie Aikin. In 2007, Aikin won the $4,000 to
win, Rislone Sprint Nationals at the Williams Grove Speedway, perhaps
the most prestigious win of his career.
Purks will continue to sport the #92 as he did last year. Aikin will
driver the #92A and both cars will carry the familiar blue and red color
combination.
As always, sponsors play a key role in any race team and for John
Pinter, he has plenty of support on his team. The Audi Shop of
Wilmington, DE, CnB Mushrooms, C&C Landscaping, Atlantic Speed and Roy's
Pour House Club in Claymont, DE will be on the sideboards of the Pinter
Team Cars.
"It's gonna be exciting", said Pinter who targets a goal of two cars
finishing in the top five in the Rislone URC Sprint Series of 2008.
As for the URC new year, there is a good chance that it's going to be
crowed at the top of the point chase, but at the end of the season, only
one driver and one owner will stand at the Championship podium.
Along with the Pinter two car team, some other URC big news stories
include the Chad Sinon support of URC driver Chris Coyle, Becca Anderson
returning in the Jimmy Martin/Rislone sponsored sprint car, Greg
Coverdale returning in Eldreth Construction sprint car, Davey Sammons in
the seat of the Palladino #99 and Curt Michael wheeling the Bill
Gallagher owned 5G.
At a time when race dates and race teams seam to be evaporating in most
areas of the sport, URC is building steam for 2008. The Rislone URC
Sprint Series will open 2008 at the Bridgeport Speedway on Saturday,
April 12 followed by a visit to the Delaware International Speedway on
Saturday, April 19 and the New Egypt Speedway on Saturday night, April
26.
