Erin Joyce back at Edelweiss Speedway in 2008
Gatineau, QC After missing a year of competition, Erin Joyce will be back at Edelweiss Speedway for next season. She will be running in the pro-stock class and she will also be the first female to run in this category.
The name of Erin Joyce is pretty familiar for many Edelweiss fans because she was a regular runner on every Friday nights for many years in the 4 cylinders category. She was one of the best in that class during that time because in 2002, Joyce finished second in the points title race. In 2006, she was leading in the points when she lost the championship in the last race of the season.
In 2007, she decided to run on asphalt at Capital City Speedway in the Legend class. Erin was name rookie of the year and she finished sixth in the points. She will keep to race there on every Wednesday night and will try to crack the top 5.
With the help of Patrick Mulligan of PM Promotions which is the owner of the pro-stock vehicle, Joyce will make her return on dirt and will be present for the five races of the Pneus Capital series. Mulligan will try to find another car for the other 2 races held at Edelweiss to give the best chances to Joyce to get some valuable points for her to be a contender in the DIRT pro-stock rookie of the year. She could not make it without some precious sponsors like Babe Design, Finish Line Racewear, Excel Radio, Line-X, Smac Magazine and also a special thanks to Sylvain Mercier.
Erin Joyce will surely be one to watch as she will make her first steps in this full fender class!!!
