(Woodhull, NY) Many drivers would consider a top ten in the final point standings of the 2007 T3 All Star Series a pretty good accomplishment considering the top quality competitors that follow the series. For Dylan Dewert of Corning, NY it was a bitter sweet season at best considering he lost the inaugural T3 Championship in 2005 to Billy VanPelt by just a few scant points. “We finished ninth in the 2006 T3 All Star Series Championship, stated Dewert but we had all sorts of bad luck starting with the first race of the season where we lost a motor. It was nearly half way through the year that we finally started hitting our stride and then we were just too far back to make any noise.”
In 2007 Dewert swapped the top point spot with Ray Bliss Jr. numerous times before a late season rally by Billy VanPelt found him once again being crowned T3 Champion. “Mercer in September of 2007 was the turning point as we had a second place in sight in the Little Guy Nationals when a lapped car changed all that for us with two laps to go, stated Dewert. At that point we lost our momentum and couldn’t re-catch Billy.” Ultimately Double D finished a close third in the 2008 final point tally to Bliss.
However, like Ray Bliss Jr., Dylan Dewert and all of the rest of the T3 All Star regulars they will all be gunning for VanPelt when the 2008 season begins.
Through his privately owned company, Dewert Speed of Corning, Dylan Dewert will once again be a product sponsor of the fourth year tour group by offering discount certificates to several drivers during the 2008 T3 All Star Series for 358 Modifieds. Details of the sponsorship package will be released at a later date, however it is expected that a different driver will receive the redeemable product certificate at each tour stop to help distribute the wealth to as many different racers as possible. “Each year we have done something different for the drivers to try and help out as many of them as possible and this season we are looking at a totally different approach to meet the needs of even more of the teams,” stated Dewert who did pick up a T3 feature win at the Woodhull Raceway in 2007 making it a pair of T3 All Star Series feature wins since the series began in 2005.
