Alberta Sprint Tour ready for 2008 season.
Although the racing season will not begin for a few more months north of the border, things are heating up for the Alberta Sprint Tour. New sponsors have come onboard by way of Fatheadz Eyewear and XM Canada to help support the winged 360 series. The AST is one of only two racing series that follow the ASCS standards (the other being the S.O.S series out of Ontario) in Canada that have battled to prove there worth in North Americas most prominent 360 fields. In 2007 the Scott Safety Alberta Sprint Tour dominated its southern counter part in Montana on the rivals home turf and landed a team in every major event that the teams participated in throughout the Pacific Northwest, including the WoO stop at their home track of Castrol Raceway. Although being far away from the major hubs of open wheel racing the AST has shown its commitment through the likes of top drivers such as WoO veteran Tim Gee, upcoming stars Travis Rutz and perennial favourites like Joe Ramaker. Names like Huson, Solwold and Khane have travelled to the far north to battle with the best of Canada and been suprised by the local talent in drivers like Marc Duperron and Sean Moran.
