SYRACUSE, N.Y. – It has become the annual kick off for 360 sprint car racing, the Winternationals at the East Bay Raceway Park. Every year the 25th Anniversary Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints (ESS) makes a presence at the sunshine state and in 2008 that is no different with young stars Michael Parent and Anthony Cain heading south.

The King of the 360’s spans a total of three nights with the finale on Saturday night which is the 7th Annual Ronald Laney Memorial paying the winner a cool $10,000. Holding up the banner of the newly sponsored Lucas Oil tour will be two of the brightest stars in the ESS fold.

Parent hails from Granby, Quebec and 18 year old driver is entering his third season in a winged sprint car. In 2006 he took home the Jereco Competition Engine and Parts rookie of the year title and last season he just missed several A-Main victories in route to a solid 6th place finish in the final points. Parent has a F5 chassied sprint with Fisher power under the hold. The main backer is Les Constructions Ultra which is the Parent family business and also an ESS sponsor.

For Cain, the Fairfax, VT driver is making his maiden voyage to East Bay which will head a very aggressive schedule for 2008. Joined forces with Lonny Lacaillade and Lacaillade Masonry, Cain will hit the ESS tour fulltime for the first time in ’08. Three cars are ready for the attack with a J&J chassis mount heading to Florida.

The 25th Anniversary Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints will see their season’s first green flag on the dirt on Saturday, April 12th at the Black Rock Speedway. Some 30 dates will back up the special anniversary celebration with some of the best stars from two nations looking for the Lucas Oil Crown at seasons end.
