CONCORD, N.C. (Jan. 30, 2008) - Reserved seats for the five major
events that comprise the 2008 schedule at The Dirt Track @ Lowe's Motor
Speedway are now on sale.
Running from April to November, the schedule includes eight nights
of action highlighted by the nomadic World of Outlaws sprint cars and
late
models.
The four-tenths-mile clay oval opens its season April 18-19 with the
third annual Circle K Colossal 100. The two-day event is part of the
World
of Outlaws Late Model Series and concludes with a 100-lap,
$50,000-to-win
feature. Dirt late model legend Scott Bloomquist will be chasing his
third
consecutive victory in this marquee early season event.
The Rite Aid Outlaw Showdown on Friday night, May 23, is part of
Coca-Cola 600 Week and features the winged sprint cars of the Advance
Auto
Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series. Dirt-track legend Steve
Kinser,
two-time series champion Donny Schatz and Danny Lasoski will be among
those
battling for a $12,000 first-place prize.
Several of the world's top Monster Trucks return to The Dirt Track
Saturday night, Aug. 16, for the ninth annual Circle K Monster Truck
Bash.
The evening of motorized mayhem will see the gargantuan machines
compete in
a series and elimination races and then battle it out in a radical
freestyle
competition.
The Southern Showdown on Wednesday night, Oct. 8, kicks off Bank of
America 500 Week and features the cars and stars of the World of
Outlaws
Late Model Series. This event features a unique format that rewards
passing
and carries a possible $20,000 first-place prize.
One of the nation's most successful dirt-track events in 2007, the
second edition of the World of Outlaws World Finals is set for Oct.
30-Nov.
1. The three-day extravaganza brings the World of Outlaws late models
and
sprint cars together with twin $10,000-to-win main events for each
division.
The Dirt Track features stadium-style seating along the frontstretch
and all events are family priced with special children's tickets
available
for those ages 12 and under. Tickets for each 2008 event can be
