"We're really excited about the debut of FASTRAK at Mercer," acknowledged 10th year owner Vicki Emig, who also serves as the Northeast Co-Director of FASTRAK with Mike Leone. "The response has been tremendous and racers are thrilled that they now have three tracks to race at per weekend. It will be the first time since 1974 that the Late Models will appear weekly at Mercer. It's also great that Raceway 7 and Tri-City Speedway have agreed to the same payoff and of course the same identical rules."

Mercer Raceway Park will host two Northeast Touring Series events as the 2008 Northeast Champion will receive $5,000. A Mercer Raceway Park regular also has the chance to be the 2008 Grand National Champion, which pays a minimum of $50,000 cash and pays down 40 spots.

The FASTRAK Late Models will be eligible to compete in the season opening "Chiller Thriller" on Saturday, March 29 which will pay $2,000 to-win for Steel-Block Late Models. Also on the card for the opener will be open Stock Cars for $1,000 to-win, the new United E-Mod Series for $750 to-win, and the Mini Stocks. Gates open at 4:30 with hot laps at 6:15 and racing at 7 p.m.
