2008 CLASS SPONSORS ANNOUNCED FOR THE WOODHULL RACEWAY

(Woodhull, NY) Woodhull Raceway owner, Vern Wasson is pleased to welcome back all of the weekly class sponsors for next season. Known as a REGULAR BIG 6 SHOW, Woodhull will once again feature the L.J. Kennedy Trucking 358 Modifieds, the S&W Awards and Photos Crate Sportsman, the NAPA Auto Parts 360 Late Models, the Morgan’s Auto Repair Street Stocks along with the Signs Plus of Kanona Mini Stocks and the LaBarron Brothers Repair and Parts Front Wheel Drive Division.

Kennedy Trucking will once again partner up with Woodhull for numerous promotions in addition to their affiliation with the 358 Modifieds. A massive advertising campaign throughout the entire year will keep the L.J. Kennedy Trucking name in the forefront and as part of the package there will also be a special Kennedy Trucking Family Night at the track.

The participating NAPA Auto Parts Stores from across the Twin Tiers of NY and Pa. will once again team up to sponsor the 360 Late Model Division. Last years Track Champion, Wayne Robertson is expected to return to defend his title. NAPA will once again sponsor the season ending Race of Champions Event for drivers that pickup a feature event in 2008. Some serious money is to be had in this All Star Sprint format. Like Kennedy Trucking, NAPA will also have their Annual Night at the Races for all the participating stores including Addison, Bath, Corning, Hornell and Lawrenceville.

Without question, the Street Stock Class at Woodhull is the most competitive division of racing anywhere. Just winning a feature event is a challenge let alone winning a track title. Morgan’s Auto Repair will once again be the headline sponsor of the Woodhull Street Stocks and like the NAPA 360 Late Models before them; Morgan’s will also put up some serious money for the season ending Race of Champions which is always a treat for the fans. The Morgan’s Auto Repair name will also be found on many of the top running cars in the Street Stock Class.

Sam and Vicky Presley of Signs Plus of Kanona are well known for their expertise in the field of high tech graphic work. But, they are also huge supporters of Motorsports in the area. Signs Plus will one again help out the low buck Mini Stock Division with much needed funds at the seasons ending banquet. Also, they have been known to show up at Woodhull Raceway event offering cash awards to some “Lucky Dog” in a Mini Stock feature event. Many of the professionally lettered Mini Stock machines along with cars representing several of Woodhull’s other regular classes came thru Signs Plus of Kanona Shop.

Buck and P.J. LaBarron purchased the former Steve’s Repair and Parts in South Woodhull a few years ago and in 2006 jumped onto the Woodhull Raceway sponsor bandwagon as the headline sponsor of the new Front Wheel Drive 4 Cylinder Enduro’s.

The class experienced overwhelming success in its first two full seasons and LaBarron Brothers Repair and Parts will once again be back at Woodhull in full force to sponsor the highly popular form of competition. In fact, several of the cars that compete in the division came through the LaBarron Brothers lot and not only will their name be mentioned in conjunction with the class, the fans will also see the LaBarron Brothers Repair and Parts name adorning the sides of numerous cars on the track. A night of sponsorship is also included with their marketing package. Fans can expect to see up to 40 or more cars in the FWD class in 08.

It was after much thought and consideration in 2006 that rookie Woodhull Raceway promoter, Vern Wasson decided to excuse the third year Woodhull Warrior Division. The numbers had been dropping in subsequent years and with more kids moving out of the class and fewer coming in perhaps due to longer than expected go-karting careers it was decided to replace the Warriors with an all new class in 2007. S&W Awards and Photos, who had sponsored the Warrior’s since its inception in 2005 has moved over and will once again be the headline sponsor of the Crate Sportsman Division when it returns to Woodhull in April. The track office has already been flooded with drivers and teams’ registering for the second year division and Wasson expects as many as 30 teams by mid-season. It should be a balanced mix of some cagey veterans and a bunch of young guns looking to advance their careers. S&W Awards and Photos of Corning are also the tracks Official Photographer and Supplier of all plaques and trophies throughout the season.

Many of the Cars and Stars that compete at Woodhull in all of the Regular 6 Divisions will be on hand for the Annual Woodhull Raceway/Redline Raceway/Clinton County Raceway Arnot Mall Car Show on April 5 and 6, 2008. For more information go to the web at www.woodhullraceway.com.
