Alltel All Star Voting Continues: Four Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series Drivers Eligible

Voting continues through March 16 for the inaugural Alltel All Star, with the driver earning the most votes receiving $12,000. Drivers earned nominations by winning an A-Feature event during the 37th Annual Alltel DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park in Florida which ran from February 5-16.



Four Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series drivers are eligible for the award after winning at the half-mile earlier this month.



Donny Schatz, the two-time defending Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion earned a spot on the ballot after scoring two wins with the All Star Circuit of Champions to open the 2008 campaign.



Craig Dollansky, the current World of Outlaws championship point leader earned a spot in the voting by winning on the opening night of the 2008 season. He finished in the Top-Five of all three World of Outlaws races at the half-mile.



Jason Meyers earned a nomination by winning the second World of Outlaws event at the half-mile. The native of Clovis, California also finished in the Top-Five of all three series events and is just 10 points behind Dollansky in the championship standings.



Danny Lasoski, the 2001 World of Outlaws champion wrapped up the sprint car portion of the 37th Annual Alltel DIRTcar Nationals with his 81st career series win to become the fifth sprint car driver to win in the six nights of competition.



Wayne Johnson, who won an event with the All Star Circuit of Champions during the Alltel DIRTcar Nationals currently leads the overall voting by less than one percentage points over UMP DIRTcar Modified driver Dave Hess Jr.



Voting is being conducted online at: http://www.alltelallstar.com through 11:59 p.m. EST on Sunday, March 16th.



The Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series returns to action this weekend at the famed Manzanita Speedway in Phoenix, Arizona for the Cactus Classic on Saturday, March 1.
