Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series Championship Points through March 1

Craig Dollansky used his fourth Top-Five finish of the season in the same number of events to retain the lead in the Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series championship standings after the Cactus Classic at Manzanita Speedway on Saturday night.



Jason Meyers remained second in points, just two markers out of the lead after earning his second A-Feature win of the 2008 campaign. The native of Clovis, California also has finished in the Top-Five in all four races this season.



Donny Schatz earned his third runner-up finish in four starts on Saturday night to remain third in points, just 21 markers behind Dollansky.



Joey Saldana used a fourth-place performance in the Cactus Classic to remain fourth in the standings, 39 markers out of the lead.



Terry McCarl earned his third Top-10 finish of the season at Manzanita Speedway and remained fifth in points.



Kerry Madsen, the reigning Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year jumped from 12th in the standings to sixth after an impressive 21st to eighth-place run on Saturday night that also earned him his second KSE Race Products Hard Charger Award of the 2008 season.



Steve Kinser, the 20-time World of Outlaws champion also made a big jump in points, as he went from 15th to seventh after a sixth-place run at Manzanita Speedway.



The rest of the Top-10 remained the same after the Cactus Classic, with Chad Kemenah in eighth, Jac Haudenschild in ninth and Jason Sides in 10th.



Other drivers that gained positions after the race at Manzanita Speedway included: Tim Shaffer who moved from 16h to 11th and Kraig Kinser who jumped from 18th to 12th after a Top-10 finish.



Danny Lasoski, the 2001 World of Outlaws champion, who won earlier this season during the Alltel DIRTcar Nationals moved from 17th to 14th after Saturday night’s event.



Lucas Wolfe, a contender for the Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year Award in 2008 jumped from 19th to 14th after a solid run on Saturday night.



Shane Stewart used a third-place run at Manzanita Speedway to move into the 16th spot in the standings, with Sam Hafertepe Jr. and Justin Henderson also moving into the Top-20.



The Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series returns to action on Friday, March 14 and Saturday, March 15 at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee.
