The 25th Anniversary Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints to be a Big Part of the Motorsports Expo.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – It’s the annual extravaganza that kicks off the racing season in the Empire State, the 22nd annual Motorsports Expo, Exposition and Trade Show held in the Toyota (formerly Cargill) Exhibit Center at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse, N.Y. The event will kick off the 25th Anniversary celebration for the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints (ESS) with ESS producing another eye catching display.

Five cars will be on hand representing ESS with the drivers and cars schedule to appear being top star Jeff Cook, Bubby Kerrick, Canadian Brian McDonald, Andy Noto and a special surprise by Doug Emery. Along with the winged machines, fans will see the new Lucas Oil, ESS t-shirts, hats, decals, schedules with other surprises which includes a special ESS thrills and spills video from MRE Productions.

The Maxim built sprinters of Jeff Cook along with teammates Bubby Kerrick and Brian McDonald will headline the booth. Joining the threesome will be Andy Noto’s J&J chassis sprinter as a part of the display with Noto setting his sites on the ESS rookie of the year for 2008. Defending ESS champion Steve Poirier was hoping to have his brand new Eagle chassis sprint in the booth, but a major delay by Eagle will see his hauler stay in Quebec. Fans will still get a chance to see the 2007 champ as he will make a visit on both Saturday and Sunday.

The big surprise by Emery will see his sprinter wingless, equipped with asphalt slicks and on display at the Oswego Speedway booth in promoting ESS’ first ever Assault on the Asphalt which will be held on June 28th. Emery’s car will be set up just like all the ESS’ machines that will be in competition on the historic night at the “Steel Palace”.

A special autograph session will be held on Saturday at 1:30PM with all the drivers whose cars will be on display along with others there to sign anything the fans want to bring. Mike Mallett and MRE Productions will be doing on air interviews throughout the weekend with many of the ESS stars looking for the Lucas Oil championship.

On Friday night only, another special display will be in the ESS booth which will be a special two-seater bar stool built by Wayne DeGroff. John Gray from Luther’s Grafix is raffling off the sharp piece in raising money for his annual Make-A-Wish benefit which is entering it’s eighth edition on March 8th. All the proceeds will go to Make-A-Wish of Central, N.Y. and fans can buy chances at the ESS booth on Friday night.

The Motorsports Expo kicks off Friday night at 5PM and will run through the weekend with it concluding on Sunday night at 5PM. As it has become tradition, ESS is proud to be a major part of the show which is run by the fine folks of Gater Racing Photo News.
