The 2007 Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway Champion Jared Miley and Jared Miley Racing opened their season at the famed Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, MD this past Sunday with a solid eighth place finish in the northeast region’s opener.
On Saturday, March 1st Jared was honored at the Lernerville Speedway Awards Banquet for his impressive third place finish in the Friedman’s Supermarkets Late Models final point standings. Miley finished the 2007 season behind the dominant Alex Ferree and former Lernerville Speedway Champion Gary Lyle. Jared edged out multi-time Lernerville Speedway champion and fourth place finisher Lynn Geisler by two points as Greg Satterlee rounded out the top five.
The following day saw the Jared Miley Racing team make the three hour jaunt down the PA turnpike and Interstate 70 to Hagerstown Speedway for their season opener. Jared roared from his 16th starting position to cross the finish line eighth in the 30 lap season opener that had the likes of World of Outlaws super stars Rick Eckert (event winner) and Josh Richards (third) in the field. “The track was in great condition,” Miley said from his shop in South Park, PA. “For it being early March and the weather we have had in this area recently, I was pleasantly surprised. And to come out of there with a top ten on opening day is something that we can certainly build on. I’m looking forward to heading back the next two weeks,” Jared concluded.
Miley and his Colussy Chevrolet / Brougher’s Machine Shop / Red Miley’s Miley Truck Rental / Rocket Chassis Monte Carlo will be in action the next two weeks (March 8th and 15th) at Hagerstown Speedway before Lernerville Speedway opens their season with a practice session on Saturday, March 22nd.
Jared will also be featured, along with Florida’s Patrick Sheltra, on the ‘Clamped Up’ portion of the racing talk show Race Talk Radio on Wednesday, March 12th. The show can be heard by visiting either www.racetalkradio.com or www.clampedup.com.
