The 2008 Lucas Oil Canadian DIRT challenge to be the best edition ever!

Cornwall, On – With Lucas Oil Products signing back as the main sponsor of the Canadian DIRT Challenge, with all the dates already settle and the addition of Mohawk International Raceway as a sixth track, we can assure that the 8th edition will be the best ever presented.
The series will start in Quebec province with a doubleheader at Autodrome Granby on Friday, July 18 and the next night at Autodrome Drummond on the 19th. The challenge will then visit Mohawk International Raceway for the first time on Thursday, July 31st to start off a 4 nights in a row battle. After a quick trip to the United States, the series will head to Edelweiss Speedway on Friday, August 1st then at Brockville Ontario Speedway the following night and it will all end at Cornwall Ontario Speedway on Sunday, August 3rd.
This edition will be paying over $120,000 in prize and money, which makes it the highest one in history! This kind of money is made possible by the help of many great sponsors.
Again this year, the drivers that participate in all 6 events will be eligible in over $5,000 in prizes. Bert Transmission will give 3 gift certificates of 500$ each, Finish Line Racewear also award a 500$ certificate, Sunoco B&G Performance, the official race fuel provider, will give a full barrel of Sunoco Race Fuel valued at 650$, Trick Race Parts will donate a complete modified kit worth 650$. Babe Design is providing a 500$ certificate, Mr.Radiator will grant a racing radiator worth 630$ and Engine Research will allow a full day of Dyno testing valued at 600$. In 2007, a total of 17 drivers took part in all races.
Coffrage 20-20 will join the sponsors in awarding some prize money and plaques to best Ontario, Quebec and Native driver.
The winner of each event will receive a cool $3,000 and each driver that will start a 100-lap feature will at least receive $350. Each race will have time-trials and the fastest car will receive 100$ for his success.
After the 6 races are done, the top drivers will receive point’s fund money worth over 6,000$ and the champion will take away $2,000. Last year’s series winner Laurent Ladouceur won a total of over $10,000 in money.
With all that money given it attracts many drivers to these venues, last year an average 34 cars were at each track. Some great modified stars such as the O’Brien brothers Pat and Danny, Laurent Ladouceur, David Hébert, Yan Bussière, Mario Clair, Brian McDonald, Kayle Robidoux and many other are participating regularly to the series which makes it one of the most competitive race to win.
With the huge contribution of Lucas Oil Products and other great sponsors, we can tell that this edition will be the most lucrative and the most exciting series. Be sure to be part of it at one of the six tracks.
