SUNY Canton Joins the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints for the 25th Anniversary Season.
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – In a very unique first time partnership, the picturesque upstate New York campus of SUNY Canton has become a part of the 25th Anniversary Empire Super Sprints. With the backing of the well known four year institution, all three A-Mains at Utica-Rome Speedway as well as the July 5th visit at the Can-Am Motorsports Park will pay the victor a cool $2,000.
SUNY Canton has branched out to many forms of motorsports with the dedicated help of Mike Perry, a part of the college’s administrative services. SUNY Canton not only will be part of ESS in 2008, they also are the title sponsor of the 16 race series for street stocks which will be held at Can-Am, Utica-Rome and also the Thunder Alley Speedpark. You can also find the SUNY Canton logo on the pages of Dirt Track Digest, one of the leading dirt motorsports websites in the US and Canada.
“To have Mike and SUNY Canton come aboard gives ESS a big boost in Central, N.Y. We will have four events at $2,000 to win with $250 to start and that is a huge plus.” mentioned by ESS President Chuck Miller. “Last year we had several races at $2,000 to win, but with the added sponsors we have most of the races in ’08 at that goal. We hope to have all of the full point events at $2,000 to win.”
SUNY Canton is entering its 102nd year in giving students from upstate New York the very best in education. It’s known as the college for technology, health, management and public service. The 25th Anniversary season kicks off on Saturday night April 12th with the return of ESS to the Black Rock Speedway.
