FREE TO THE PUBLIC PRACTICE DAYS ARE UP NEXT AT BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY
BRIDGEPORT, NJ (March 16, 2008) - Following a successful “Gear Up Day”, 2 free to the public practice day sessions are the next events scheduled at Bridgeport Speedway. On Saturday, March 15, over 40 race cars were present on “Gear Up Day” and went through mandatory New Jersey Safety Tech Inspection. Also, Bridgeport Speedway staff members were on hand to complete necessary pre-season paperwork and answer any questions about the upcoming 2008 season.
The next scheduled event at Bridgeport Speedway is practice day for the 5/8 mile oval on Saturday, March 29 at 12 Noon with the Pit Gates opening at 9:00 AM. 1/4 mile speedway practice day will occur on Friday, April 4 at 7:00 PM with the Pit Gates opening at 4:00 PM. General Grandstand Admission is free to the public on both practice days. Pit Admission for each practice day is $20 with a license and $30 without a license.
Following the 2 practice days, the first race of the Bridgeport – New Egypt Modified Challenge Series (30 lap feature- $3000 to win) is the main event on opening day at Bridgeport Speedway on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 6:00 PM. This new eight race series for the Big Block Modifieds will carry its own point chase and all Modifieds attempting to qualify on opening night will receive 50 competition points toward the 2008 Bridgeport Modified Point chase as well. Joining the Modifieds on opening night will be the 358 Sportsman, GM Sportsman, Rookie GM Sportsman and Outlaw Stocks. Pit Gates will open at 12:00 PM, Grandstand Gates open at 4:00 PM and Warm-Ups will begin at 5:15 PM.
Bridgeport Speedway’s 1/4 mile racing season will take the green flag on Friday, April 11 at 7:00 PM. $500-to-win events for the 600cc Micro Sprints and the 270cc Micro Sprints. Additionally, 4 Cylinder Stock Cars and the invading Slingshots with their high sail-panel style wings will be on the race card.
For the 2008 season, many new fan participation events and fan nights are being planned and will be announced very shortly.
Billed ‘The Fastest Dirt Track in the East’, Bridgeport Speedway is a banked 5/8th mile dirt oval, featuring a dirt 1/4 mile oval embedded in the center, and is located in Southern New Jersey -- just minutes from Pennsylvania and Delaware at exit 14 off of I-295.
