All Star Circuit of Champions to kick off Attica's racing season.
ATTICA, Ohio (Monday, March 24) - Continued wet, cold weather and the
forecast for more of the same this week, has prompted Attica Raceway Park
officials to cancel the Friday, March 28 HD Supply Night activities. "Ohio's
Finest Racing" venue will kick off its 20th anniversary season on Friday,
April 4, when the O'Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions begins their
northern racing season at the Coors Light Spring Clash.
Two-time All Star champion Greg Wilson, Pennsylvania Posse star Lance
DeWease, Dale Blaney, the Hurricane Randy Hannagan, Brian Paulus, Brock
Mayes, Brandon Martin and a talented group running for the Rookie of the
Year honors will battle three-time Attica champion Bryon Reed, Mike Linder,
Mark Keegan and the other strong weekly competitors for the $5,000 top
prize.
"We can't seem to get more than a day of dry weather. We've had
well-drillers tell us the ground is more saturated than it was during the
big flooding of 1969. And to make it worse, the weather forecast shows more
rain throughout the week," said Attica Operations Director Rex LeJeune.
"Hopefully over the next two weeks we can get some dry weather and some wind
to help dry out the grounds," LeJeune added. "Since we have a raindate for
the All Stars of Saturday, April 5, we stand a better chance of getting the
Coors Light Spring Clash in."
The Service Drive Solutions Attica Late Models will also be competing for a
$1,000 feature payday.
