Lance Dewease and Catoctin Motorsports Aiming for All Star Circuit of Champions Crown.
FAYETTEVILLE, PA. – “King of the [Pennsylvania] Posse” for the last
two years, Lance Dewease and the No. 30c Catoctin Motorsports 410
Sprint car are aiming for the crown in the O’Reilly All Star Circuit
of Champions sprint car series.
Dewease is strongly in second place, just one point behind leader Fred
Rahmer. In the first five races this season, Dewease has yet to finish
outside the top five in the four feature races he started. This
consistency has been a trademark of Dewease’ driving style for his
entire career, making him a favorite with competitors, fans and car
owners, who know he will bring the car home in once piece.
The next event on the ASCoC calendar is on Attica, Ohio’s Attica
Raceway on April 4.
Before that race though, Lance is looking forward to the next races on
Catoctin Motorsports calendar: at Williams Grove and Lincoln, after “a
kind of so-so night” last weekend at both tracks.
The ASCoC crown is not the only target in Lance’s sights. He is
thoroughly occupied with running as many races as he can, putting his
sponsors’ names in front of the maximum number of spectators possible.
When not running an ASCoC event or a World of Outlaws race, he tours
his local tracks, building his already considerable skills.
At Williams Grove on Friday night, Dewease coped well. “The track was
pretty wet,” he reported, adding that he “was pleased with my race
car” on the way to finishing in ninth place for the feature. Lance
raced his way into the feature through the Consolation race and then
moved up through the field to the top ten finish.
On Saturday night, a recurrent brake problem with broken rotors led
Dewease to comment “we did not have a good night – we had brake
problems on the car.” He described the problem as the rotor “shifting
on the hub and breaking. We’ve figured it out and it won’t happen
again,” he added.
Catoctin Motorsports is already planning on a continuation of their
string of 50 percent top five finishes in features races made this
year. For marketing and other information, contact the team’s
